History

The roots of Imetaal go back to 1972. At that time a small company was founded in Gendringen / The Netherlands which started with steelwork contracts from a 450m² production hall.

Over the years the company grew continuously. Apart from the pure steel construction work a more extensive scope of works was offered. Orders were executed all over the world, like for example, 20 turnkey halls in Mauritania; a milk production hall in Libya and a cold store in Siberia. Nevertheless, the main orders came from Germany and the Netherlands.

Place for the additional staff and workforce had to be created and by 1979 Imetaal already had 2,400 m² of production area as well as 331 m² of office space. In 1996 this was expanded to 4,580 m² of production and 1,030 m² of office space.

To effectively manage the ever increasing workload it was decided in 1985 to separate the different fields of work as follows:

The existing Imetaal Staalbouw bv, Gendringen / NL and a new company in Germany, Imetaal Stahlbau GmbH, Emmerich were to execute all contracts for steel construction in the Netherlands and Germany.

In 2005 Imetaal founded an English company Imetaal Steel Construction Ltd. wich focus is not only steel constructions but also roof and walls.

In 2008 the production facility will expand again and Imetaal has also build a new office building in The Netherlands.
